A Message from Bishop Patrick J. McGrath

Dear Friends:

Our Catholic Cemeteries are a treasured means by which we ensure that our deceased loved ones are treated with the dignity reflective of the Church's concern for them. In the celebration of Mass, in the diligent care given to the cemetery grounds and buildings, and in the ministry provided by the cemetery staff, we give witness to our belief in eternal life. In essence, the Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of San Jose bear witness to the assurance of everlasting life.

I invite and encourage you to visit Gate of Heaven and Calvary Catholic Cemeteries and pray for those whose earthly remains are buried there.

At this time, I would also like to take the opportunity to recommend that all Catholics look into the spiritual, emotional and financial benefits of pre-planning for cemetery needs. Our Family Service Counselors are more than ready to be of assistance to you and to your family in preparing for your own burial needs.
